We've decided to push the start back to Monday, August 10th at 12pm and end on Monday, August 24th at 12pm. We wanted to give you two full and two full weekends to find the treasure. Details available here.
How would you like to embrace your inner villain? We are bringing audience interactivity to a whole new level. We are looking for one person to join us on Saturday, August 29th filming in the gold country near Sacramento, California. That's right, you will get a chance to join the cast of The Treasure Chronicles! We are searching for a Caucasian male actor between 20-40 years of age to play an evil gold rush miner. You will get a chance to dress up in California gold rush attire. You will get a chance to become a part of history as you help us re-make history in the world's first truly interactive video series. We'll feed you - and you'll get paid to do it!
Please send us a picture via email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested. You'll need to be local to Sacramento, or willing to travel at your own expense. We'll announce if we've found an actor on Monday August 17th. We do reserve the right to pick and choose who we like best. If you suck too badly on the set, we'll probably toss you in the river - just kidding on that last part (sort of).
So tell all your male 20-40 friends and neighbors to get their face in the most innovative show anywhere!
After a frenetic several months getting ready to resume production of The Treasure Chronicles, we've completed our first shoot. We've still got plenty of work ahead to complete the next two episodes. With Summer vacations, weddings, and just plain Summer fun, we're taking a bit of a hiatus. This doesn't mean that we're sitting on our butts though. To quote our irascible character Skagit "You've got to have a plan to win, so what's the plan?"
This month we'll be sharing some of the sights and sounds from our research trip to the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. Not only will Tom, our founder and creator, be researching a new interactive series, but he'll also be living and working amongst the Blackfeet as a volunteer for a week.
We'll be casting actors and actresses for the remaining scenes for the next two episodes. We've got some great candidates who will help us portray some very important historical figures from the California gold rush. These scenes are going to be great fun to shoot out in the gold country of the Sierra Nevada foothills. We're planning on shooting during the last part of August. We'll get all of the footage over to our post production editing wizards and we're aiming for an October release of the next episode of the Treasure Chronicles! Get registered and get set to rejoin the hunt for lost gold.
Speaking of gold, we've got things setup for our Sacramento treasure hunt. Get registered and tell your friends, if you happen to be in the Sacramento area during the first two weeks of August. We're giving you the chance to track down real California gold rush gold, and have fun experiencing the sights and sounds of Sacramento at the same time. Be on the lookout for some more clues to help you solve the riddles. Also get ready to vote for the next city on our treasure hunt tour if Sacramento isn't able to step up and find the gold. Remember - if they don't, then the treasure moves onto the next city and we add an additional reward on top of the first!
Enjoy your Summer and get ready to re-join the hunt as we let you take control of The Treasure Chronicles.
Apologies for the late announcement on this. We got a bit behind with all of the preparation to film last weekend. At long last, the details you've been waiting for regarding our actual treasure hunt.
Immagix Media LLC in conjunction with Huntzz, will be presenting a winner take all treasure hunt.
When: From Saturday, August 8th, 2015 until Saturday, August 22nd, 2015.
Where: Sacramento, CA
During the course of the treasure hunt, Immagix users will be given the chance to determine which city the next treasure hunt will be held.
If the Sacramento audience is not successful in finding the treasure, then it will move onto the next city and the reward will increase!
What's at stake? We will be giving the audience the chance to win gold and artefacts from the gold rush era shipwreck the S.S. Central America. That's right, you can win gold that was lost over 150 years ago and was recently recovered from the ocean floor. The value of the treasure begins at not less than $250 US and will climb $100 for every 100 people who register (currently up to a maximum of $750 US)
How do I win? You simply need to be the first person to solve all of the clues and visit each of the locations that the clues reveal. In order to participate:
1. You'll be using the Huntzz app.
2. You'll need to be a member at immagix.com.
3. You will need to actually be in Sacramento, or helping solve the clues with someone who is in Sacramento
4. Put on your walking/running shoes and your thinking cap in order to win. Come prepared for the hot Sacramento sun with plenty of fluids and cool clothing. Treasure hunting can be hot work.
In other news, we've completed filming of parts of two more episodes of The Treasure Chronicles. We have one more day of shooting, currently scheduled for August 29th. We're aiming for a Fall release of the next two episodes. These episodes will introduce a number great new characters and provide some key clues to help you navigate your way successfully through the rest of the season.
Thanks for your support and happy treasure hunting!
With the efforts of an amazing cast and crew, we were able to knock out a major portion of filming two more episodes of The Treasure Chronicles first season. We've got to do some more casting in July and another shoot later in August to get the remaining scenes. You've still got plenty of time to register and be a part of the worlds first completely interactive series - and possibly win some cash!
Our sincere thanks to Anthony and staff at Karma Brew, Mercury Cleaners for their courtesy and help in allowing us to film at their locations. They are both great businesses and you should visit them if you are in Sacramento in need of beer or clean clothes (hopefully not because of the beer). Also a great big thank you to Ascent Builders. They've been a huge supporter of ours from the start.
More later today on our treasure hunt in Sacramento!
We have been busy at work, putting together schedules, fine tuning scripts, and doing cast searches for several new roles. We've also been putting the final touches on our first gold rush treasure hunt. Let's get started with the details.
The Immagix Treasure Hunt
We will begin the treasure hunt on June 27th, 2015. The hunt will run from June 27th until July 11th. We will announce the winner and award the prize on July 15th, though the winner will know as soon as they are the first one to solve all of the clues. If nobody finds the treasure by 11:59pm on July 11th, then the prize moves onto the next treasure hunt.
What is the treasure?
An antique gold coin from the gold rush era as well as gold recovered from a shipwreck during the gold rush. They are both collectibles and though valuable now, will undoubtedly increase in value in time. A legacy for you to hold onto or reap the rewards of your successful hunt now.
The treasure hunt will take place in the city of Sacramento.
What do I need to do to participate?
You'll need the app from www.huntzz.com installed
You'll need to be a registered treasure hunter at www.immagix.com/register
You'll need to bring your wits and a sense of adventure. Treasure hunts can take you to far off places, so bring comfortable shoes
You decide where the next treasure hunt is.
Remember. If nobody finds the treasure in the amount of time allotted, the treasure will move onto the next location. We'll have a poll to allow you to help us select the next city. That treasure will get added to the next treasure for an even bigger jackpot!
The Treasure Chronicles production resumes!
The start of our treasure hunt will be timed to coincide with the resumption of production of our first season. We'll be shooting in and around Sacramento and you may find your treasure hunting path cross with our filming path. We've got a lot of work to do, but we're confident and eager to get moving. We'll keep you posted on our progress.
We're lining up shoot dates, assembling cast and crew schedules and working out the location details to get things moving. You will have an opportunity to vote for what you believe Lola and Antonio should do next. We'll re-open voting on May 1st for a limited time. So get registered and cast your vote! We've got another blog post planned to explain our money back guarantee. Lots of things happening here at Immagix!
Here are the latest details on our promotional treasure hunt coming soon in Sacramento, California.
What the heck is this?
As a promotion for our interactive web series, The Treasure Chronicles, we are sponsoring an actual treasure hunt. The first one to solve all of the clues will actually win gold.
Awesome! How do I get in on it?
First, you'll need to be registered at immagix.com/register in order to participate. Next, you'll need to install the treasure hunting app from Huntzz (www.huntzz.com). We're creating the hunt using their app. It allows us to do a real treasure hunt in which you'll need to figure out our clues in order to find the next location. You will need to physically go to the location (or have someone go for you if you aren't in Sacramento) in order to get the next clue. When you solve all of the clues before everyone else - you are the winner!
When and where is this going to happen?
We've decided that since The Treasure Chronicles' first season is about the California Gold Rush, what better place than to hold our first treasure hunt than the place where it all started - Sacramento, California. We're planning on beginning the hunt on a Saturday in June. We'll give you plenty of advance notice, but we're trying to have it coincide with our re-start of production.
How much time will I have to complete it?
It will be a race against your fellow treasure hunters. Only the first to solve all of the clues can claim the prize. We are also putting a ten day time limit on the hunt. If nobody has solved it after ten days, then the reward moves onto the next city. Not only will it move on, but another reward will be added to the prize pool!
Are you really giving away gold?
Yes! It will be actual gold, and it will also be a collectible item. We'll let you know precisely what it is soon, as well as the value of the prize. It is something that will undoubtedly gain in value the longer you hold onto it.
We'll be releasing all of the legal details and rules at immagix.com in the coming weeks and we'll give you the date for the launch, so register now. One more thing. The more people who register, the more valueable the prize will be. So tell your friends, or start a team and work together to solve it. We'll also start a forum at immagix.com to allow you to interact with other hunters.
As a bonus, we're going to pre-release the first clue in the treasure hunt later this week, so check back soon.
We can't wait!
Hidden gold. The very idea of it has started mad rushes throughout history. We're going to provide you with the clues to find
some. It won't be easy, and you won't be alone. Finders keepers is the rule in treasure hunting. You'll have to be clever and
you'll have to be fast to claim it. There will be only one winner, however, even if you aren't the winner, you can still earn TQ points by solving the puzzles/clues.
Our first treasure hunt will be held in the place where the California Gold Rush truly began - Sacramento, California. The
treasure hunt will be conducted using a fantastic app called Huntzz (http://www.huntzz.com/) Huntzz allows us to create
puzzles and clues you'll need to decipher to receive the next location on the treasure trail. At the end of the trail, for the
first to solve all of the clues will be gold from the California Gold Rush era!
You don't necessarily have to be in Sacramento to join the hunt, but you'll need to find a "runner" in Sacramento to uncover the
clues if you aren't there. We'll have all the details next week (including the date of the event)!
Don't miss your chance to claim a part of history.
On a side note, we'll also be doing some location scouting for The Treasure Chronicles. We're all really looking forward to bringing you more!
Interactivity is everything
Without you, our idea goes nowhere. We need an engaged audience willing to watch our shows and tell us what they think should happen next. When have you ever heard that from the producers of any television show? Certainly, anyone who has ever had the notion to tell their story on screen wants people to see the denouement of their efforts. However, our stories simply can't proceed unless we have an active audience telling us what to do next. At this point, you may be thinking: "How can I interact with your show if you don't have anything for me to watch?" A valid question.
While we work on the plan for continuing our pilot season, we want to keep you engaged. So we're coming up with some fun and creative ways to get you involved. We're starting a series of interactive events. They will be centered around the lost treasure theme that The Treasure Chronicles embraces. We started The Treasure Chronicles to have fun, and plan to extend that to each of these concepts. Virtual treasure hunts, real treasure hunts, puzzles, and even something that blends reality and virtuality (that is a real word). We are planning on including rewards for each of these events.
We're planning our first event as a treasure hunt that will mix the real and the virtual worlds. There are some really cool apps we're evaluating that will allow us to create virtual treasure boxes anywhere in the World. You'll need to track them down and "open" them to find the contents of the box. The boxes can hold anything...maybe even more clues! Be prepared, you will either need to travel, have friends in remote places, or build a team.
We've been working all of the angles to continue production of season one of The Treasure Chronicles. We've been doing some location scouting and working on our budget and we are planning on taking a phased approach to production. We'll work on episodes as schedules and budget allows. Our plan is to get the next two episodes produced and give you a chance to get to know our characters better and to dig into the mystery of the Lost Treasure of Z. We'll let you know the release date of the next episodes as soon as we get further along in the process.
"Look Ma, No Ads!"
If you've spent anytime on our website, then you may notice something a little bit different. You are not being bombarded by any ads. Nope, not a single advertisement (outside of our own stuff) on the website. This is completely intentional. You see, we are Internet users ourselves and we find the daily barrage of pop-ups, steroid enahancement opportunities, and the latest clickbait youjustgottaseethisnow! ad to be highly annoying. However...that brings us to the next topic.
“While money can't buy happiness, it certainly lets you choose your own form of misery.”
― Groucho Marx
We've already outlined the challenges involved in creating our series. Everything else aside, money is the one that certainly gets the most attention. Hollywood studios are trying to figure out the new reality of video on the Internet, and how they will continue to make money from it. We believe that by giving you a real stake in what happens on the screen, and a real chance to be rewarded by participating, that an entry fee for each series and season is a reasonable way to go.
The reality at the moment, we simply don't have the paying members we'd need to have a competitive series. We'll need more paying members to do this. We're making a guarantee to you right here. If you sign up as a paying member we will return your money if for any reason we do not finish the series. No risk to you, plus you'll get a chance to be a charter member and win some excellent prizes!
For those of you who didn't get a chance to vote during our pilot episode, we will be providing you with a second chance to do so. So watch for that announcement too.
Our home on the Web
We'll be making some changes to the website. We'll be changing the layout of the community page to make is a bit cleaner and we're going to rearrange our homepage to de-clutter and make finding things easier. We'll be adding a calendar with upcoming events and We want to change the comments format to use Disqus. In case you don't know, Disqus is a very popular comments plug-in that many major news and entertainment web sites use. It is a great format for creating an active and involved community. We'll also be adding some other interactive content to keep things interesting.
Thanks very much for sticking with us. We have some grand plans and we appreciate all of your patience and support.
Everyone at Immagix Media.
